Collection development can often feel hit and miss. In an increasingly diverse publishing landscape, it’s harder and harder to keep on top of the writing trends, outsider authors and hot topics that our students want to read about. This session will teach you easy ways to tap into the unique demographic of your student population and how to let them drive the collection development of your recreational reading collection.

Biography
Obsessively geeky about design, information management and innovation, Mali Jorm is an affirmative educator who has worked with primary, secondary and adult education students. Mali brings together diverse skills in media, teacher librarianship, game design and visual communication to create exciting information spaces and products. Mali is a Teacher Librarian at Melba Copland Secondary School.
