How do we as teachers and educators make the connections to allow us to restore the heart of tamariki (our youth) when faced with everyday challenges that lead to behavioural issues? At Flaxmere Primary School, the home of Nga Tamariki TOA, the key to working with our tamariki, is connection and ensuring they have a sense of belonging. Since becoming a PB4L school in 2012 to a Tier 3 project school in 2018, we have implemented a wide range of initiatives to support students, staff and whanau. During this workshop we will share insights and strategies that have proven to be successful in building effective and strong relationships.
