Details

Young people in youth justice often present with neurodevelopmental disabilities, significant language and literacy difficulties, and exposure to complex trauma and mental health issues that are similar to other young people who come into contact with child safety, mental health and disability services. Additionally, young people must also navigate through the youth justice and court systems. This presentation will showcase to teachers how they might better identify these complex issues before their students have to deal with the court system, legal professionals, and youth justice programs and services.
