Judy Thompson joined the ASLA team in April, in the newly created role of Executive Officer. She will be supporting the Board with administrative tasks, professional learning activities, managing the membership database, social media and the ASLA website. In addition to those roles, Judy will work on advocacy for the profession. She brings with her a wealth of experience as a Teacher Librarian, having worked for 16 years as Head of Information Services Faculty at Canberra Girls Grammar School. As well as the Library, the Faculty included the information technology curriculum, independent learning and interdisciplinary inquiry programs. Before that, Judy managed several Commonwealth Government departmental libraries, over 15 years. She has also worked in university libraries, and in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Library.
