Significant findings from Australian studies within the contexts of school, public and academic libraries help us understand how we can shift from “doing” to “being” evidence based library professionals. I will explore what a mature evidence based library might like and how “being” evidence based practice can contribute to achieving your library’s goals and outcomes.

Biography
Clare has worked in academic and state libraries since 2001, using evidence-based approaches to develop and apply best practices in collection management, user experience, staff development, and information literacy design. Her current role is Associate Director (Library Experience) at the University of Southern Queensland. Clare’s professional achievements have been recognised with the Metcalfe Award for early career achievement and the Queensland Library Achiever of the Year from the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Clare is currently serving a two-year term as Institutional Director on the ALIA Board.
