The Pedagogical Cycle is about helping teachers recognise and prioritise the successful components of an effective teaching and learning program.
The Pedagogical Cycle has the following goals:
To engage students in learning; To establish the link between classroom design, management, curriculum & pedagogy; To improve the development of personalised learning approaches for every child; To improve discussion and practice in effective assessment, thinking skills and the link between assessment, data and pedagogy; To help establish processes for quality feedback and linking to student/teacher respect
This presentation follows the research and develops a process into building student agency in teaching and learning to ensure maximum outcomes while maintaining student and teacher creativity and autonomy.

Biography
David has over 25 years of experience as a teacher, deputy principal and principal. Due to his work in student support, leadership and engagement, his schools have been recognized by ACARA for having substantially above average gains in 2017 and 2018, State Schools Queensland (Showcase Regional Commendation 2018, Regional Awards: 2012, 2013), Showcase State Finalist (2013), Life Education Queensland (Children's Day School Award 2012) and Kids Matter Australia. David is also working on research for the Doctor of Education at Griffith University in student engagement and has recently spoken at the National Future Schools Conference in Melbourne, has presented his research at the 2019 ATEA Conference at the University of the Sunshine Coast in July and presented at the ACSA Curriculum Conference in Melbourne this September.
