Overview

THRASS is excited to be the sponsor of ‘The Classroom of the Future’. Discover the fun and success of using THRASS. Join us as we take you on a deep dive into the ultimate tool to teach the English writing code - the THRASS chart. The chart enables you to explain how the reading and writing system ‘really’ works. We will expose the ‘trickery’ embedded in letter-to-sound phonics programs that can lead our learners into ‘code confusion’, where even simple two-letter words become difficult and ‘tricky’! Discover why over the decades we have the same common misspellings such as ‘have written as hav’, ‘was written as woz’, ‘come written as cum’, ‘they written as thay’ etc, and the answer to how we can close this literacy gap. Watch as we show you how the THRASS chart is used to teach, remediate and revise, giving learners a constant reference point to revisit phoneme-to-grapheme information. This one tool can be used to teach phonemic awareness, the Alphabet, phonics, blends, syllables, morphemes, orthography and etymology, and it doesn't stop there. The same chart is used for oral language, teaching story writing and teaching grammar rules. Equip yourself with the ultimate literacy teaching resource and provide your learners with a tool that will enable them to make the connections needed to understand the English writing system.
